Let’s just be honest. We all have things about ourselves we wouldn’t mind changing. I’ll be the first one to say that I think as women, there is a ton of pressure to conform to a certain standard of beauty, which can be stressful! However, I also think that practicing some self-care habits that genuinely make us feel better about ourselves because it’s what WE want to do individually, is really healthy!
The Christmas season is one of my favourite times of the year, and part of the reason is because I absolutely love decorating for the holidays. We typically put up three trees: one in the dining room, one in the living room, and one in the basement for the kids. Unfortunately we’ve never been able to have a real tree due to family allergies, but I’ve managed to find some gorgeous artificial trees over the years… and on the plus side, I can start my decorating a little earlier in the season!
I think we can all agree that one of the best aspects of the holiday season is all of the yummy food! Food is such a huge part of the season – whether we enjoy certain traditional meals because they are cultural, or have become traditional treats in our homes – or simply because we love the social aspect of gathering together with family and friends over a delicious meal – the flavours of the season are something we all understand and can appreciate!
With both American Thanksgiving, and the Holiday season approaching, I thought it would be fun to highlight some awesome cook-books, along with suggestions for dishes you may wish to incorporate into your own seasonal meals! Who knows? You may even start a new tradition!
Each cook-book on this list has been selected for a specific reason, and each offers a range of delicious meal options, from appetizers, to mains, to side-dishes, to desserts!
