2017:  Comfort & Joy

I’ve never been great at daily journaling – but I’ve always respected and valued the practice. Taking the opportunity to look back and reflect on the moments and experiences of the past not only remind a person of where they’ve been – but can also give insight into where they’re going. It’s amazing to see how things that seemed impossible in the moment, are miraculously worked out, with design and purpose.

So, with that in mind, as 2017 draws to a close, I have been intentionally reflecting on the year, and some of the moments that have impacted us as a family, as we prepare to usher in 2018.

Christmas DIY Projects

I love a good DIY project.  In fact I almost always have something on the go, and some idea in the back of my mind that I’d like to see happen in my home.  A couple of months ago, I was daydreaming out loud, telling Jeff all the things I’d like to do in our house this year.  He looked at me, slightly dismayed and asked, “Will there ever be a time when we aren’t working on a project?”  My response:  “No, no there will not.”  Lol.

Holiday Home Tour

Welcome here everyone!  As I mentioned in a previous post, Christmas is my favourite time of the year, and one of the things I enjoy the most about this season is being able to create an inviting space for family and friends.

I know there are people in my life who think I go overboard with the Christmas decor, but this is just one of those creative outlets that I let myself enjoy.

This year, I was really inspired by the minimalist/Scandinavian trend – which, for me, means lots of greenery, monochromatic decor, simple details, and cohesion.  On that note, I hope you all enjoy this little Holiday Home Tour!  I’m really happy with how everything has turned out… so far 😉
