I don’t know about the rest of you, but making meals that all of my kids will actually enjoy is no joke. Ben doesn’t like anything green, Isla won’t eat pasta that tastes like lasagna (which is practically every tomato-based pasta sauce)… Molly is actually the only one who is basically willing to eat whatever we put in front of her. In fact usually she schools the other two and is done her meal long before we’ve finished bargaining and negotiating over “how many more bites” are left for our bigger kids.
So, with that being said, I’m not going to lie, I do fall back on pizza pretty often because it’s a guaranteed winner for all involved. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not just a frozen pizza tossed into the oven (although I won’t lie, we do that on occasion, too)… what we really love are home-made mini pizzas. I know there is nothing new or earth shattering about this idea, but I love how it gives the kids some independence in terms of creating their own masterpiece-meal, and they have the opportunity to really pick the flavours they love.
In April, we had the fun opportunity to work with Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria to create our own unique pizza using their brand new line of Traditional Authentico Pomodoro sauce. Each jar of this authentic, family-kept, Italian recipe is packed with rich taste, using only the best ingredients, and I can 100% say that it is as delicious as they claim! The other really cool thing about participating in their April campaign is that Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria partnered with Mealshare Canada, and all the proceeds from the sale of every jar of tomato sauce last month went directly to help feed children in need.
So, I love the fact that as a family we were able to gather together and engage in a fun activity, while also supporting such a worthy cause!
I also had the opportunity to check out Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria’s new spring menu last week, and we were spoiled with amazing new appetizers, such as the Garlic Shrimp and the Charcuterie Board, mouth-watering entrees, and a dessert feature that I still find myself daydreaming about. Ok, maybe that part isn’t true, but the dessert was honestly so delicious!!
Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria is one of our favourite places to eat, whether it’s a date night, out with friends, or a family dinner with the kids – there is something for everyone on the menu, and it was awesome to have partnered with them over the last couple of months!
